Climate Depot is reporting:

Former Vice President Al Gore declared that the Congressional climate bill will help bring about “global governance.”

“I bring you good news from the U.S., “Gore said on July 7, 2009 in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by UK Times.

“Just two weeks ago, the House of Representatives passed the Waxman-Markey climate bill,” Gore said, noting it was “very much a step in the right direction.” President Obama has pushed for the passage of the bill in the Senate.

Gore touted the climate bill, claiming it “will dramatically increase the prospects for success” in combating what he sees as the “crisis” of man-made global warming.

“But it is the awareness itself that will drive the change and one of the ways it will drive the change is through global governance and global agreements.” (Editor’s Note: Gore makes the “global governance” comment at the 1min. 10 sec. mark in this UK Times video.)

Gore’s call for “global governance” echoes former French President Jacques Chirac’s call in 2000.

On November 20, 2000, then French President Chirac said during a speech at The Hague that the UN’s Kyoto Protocol represented “the first component of an authentic global governance.”

I guess one could say that this is one of rare moments when Al Gore is actually telling the truth about his supposed “solutions” to global warming climate change climate crisis our deteriorating atmosphere.

Anytime Gore et al speak of their favored “solutions” in terms such as “global governance” it just confirms all of we skeptics worst fears about the true intentions of Gore , the rest of the alarmists, and the UN’s (through its IPCC) role in fanning the flames of this made-up issue. The UN receives 22% of it’s regular budget from the United States, and 26% of its peace-keeping operations from the US. And what do we get for our investment. A UN that is hell-bent on undermining US interests through just the sort of “global governance” that Al Gore is touting.

I feel bad for all of the regular folks, and the children that were legitimately scared by Al Gore’s science fiction movie, An Incovenient Truth, and didn’t realize that they were being manipulated so that ulterior Progressive political goals could be achieved.  And if you are one of those people, I invite you to the skeptical side. Welcome.

From The Wall Street Journal:

I get up most mornings at about 5 a.m. and read my Journal by the light of a lamp with sockets. Being greenish and patriotic, I replaced my two 100-watt incandescent bulbs with two of the new fluorescent bulbs of the same alleged wattage. Result: I couldn’t read my Journal. My wife had the same experience. We gave our fluorescent bulbs to someone who doesn’t read.
