Al Gore spokesman Kalee Kreider offers up this explanation excuse:

The Gores honored Earth Hour by shutting off the lights at their residence. The heating and air conditioning were turned off as well. But more importantly, the Gores live in a Gold LEED certified home, powered by geothermal power. They have undergone renovations to put solar panels on the roof and participate in all of the renewable power programs offered by their local utility. They aren’t perfect, no family is, but they do their best, year-round to try to make a difference at home and across the country to make a difference on the climate crisis.

On one hand Kreider is stating that the Gore’s turned their lights off during Earth Hour, but on the other she’s says the Gore’s aren’t perfect, and then insults us with “no family is [perfect]” much the way Michelle Obama insulted many Americans by saying, “I think I was like most Americans, pretty oblivious to the life of military families.”  If the Gore’s really did participate in Earth Hour, why does Kreider even need to mention that “they aren’t perfect, no family is, but they do their best….”   If the Gore’s really did participate in Earth Hour then a seasoned PR expert like Kreider would simply say that the Gore’s participated – period.

FYI:  The original source of the Al Gore Earth Hour hypocrisy is standing by his original report.
