Gore lied – of course.

Remember all of the promotional materials for Gore’s science fiction movie, An Inconvenient Truth, that so cleverly replaced the smoke emerging from an industrial smokestack with a hurricanes’ cyclone as viewed from a satellite? If you don’t, see the Flash version here (including the ominous disaster-is-about-to-strike music) at Gore’s website. Of course, Gore’s underlying message with that image was that anthropogenic global warming increased the number of hurricanes.

We know all about the notorious inability of climate alarmists to predict hurricanes, and it has been pointed out that these worthless predictions do more harm than good.

Yesterday, Nature Geoscience, which is a peer-reviewed scientific journal (and I might point out that “peer reviewed” usually means liberals rubber-stamping the biased studies of other liberals) has published a study that says global warming will actually cause a decrease in the number of hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean. But, in this case, let’s give credit where credit is due (for at least publishing the report before they burned it).

Global warming isn’t to blame for the recent jump in hurricanes in the Atlantic, concludes a study by a prominent federal scientist whose position has shifted on the subject.
Not only that, warmer temperatures will actually reduce the number of hurricanes in the Atlantic and those making landfall, research meteorologist Tom Knutson reported in a study released Sunday.

The whole article is here.

Not only hurricanes, but global warming also reduces the number of tornadoes. Global warming saves lives and property loss? Let’s just suppose for a moment that CO2 does cause significant warming – perhaps the government would then mandate lower MPGs. You know – Buy a Hummer, Save a Life!

Gore lied.
