Late last week the man-made global warming movement was dealt a likely lethal blow with the hacking and subsequent leaking of thousands of e-mails and documents from the University of East Anglia’s CRU (Climate Research Unit), nevertheless, the band plays on:
Not to be denied his Progressive utopia via junk science, Joe Romm goes alarmist, of course, about a downpour in the UK:
I have called this type of rapid deluge, “global warming type” record rainfall, since it is one of the most basic predictions of global warming science — and it’s an impact that has already been documented to have started.
Grist still finds it necessary to give us the “Top 25 reasons to give a damn about climate change”:
25. Because supermodels are stripping for the cause. If these lovely ladies are getting hot and bothered, shouldn’t you? At least watch the video. Call it your good deed for the day.
It gets dumber from there. Trust me.
And at Dot Earth, Andrew Revkin still seems mighty worried about Antarctic ice loss:
The East Antarctic Ice Sheet, long seen as the stable side of Antarctica’s vast lode of ice, appears to have been losing mass, particularly in coastal regions, over the past three years, according to a new analysis using gravity measurements. The finding is preliminary and comes with substantial uncertainty, the researchers reported in Nature Geoscience. But the research is generally consistent with other recent studies on ice loss in Antarctica and Greenland using surface and satellite measurements.
Last, but not least, Newsweek’s Sharon Begley still sees a looming catastrophe unless a global governance to combat climate change is reached in Copenhagen next month:
For instance, scientists foresee a massive rise in sea levels that would inundate coastal megalopolises from Shanghai to New York, more frequent droughts and floods, a loss of glaciers that provide fresh water to tens of millions of people in India and China, lethal heat waves, and climate shifts that are as dangerous to farming as loss of sea ice is to polar bears.
They’ve all still got that pre-CRU hack mentality, don’t they? It’s oh-so last week. But, I guess I can’t blame them. These folks have got their entire careers invested in environmental alarmism and man-made global warming, and they aren’t going to give up without a fight. But, the analysis of the CRU documents has really only just begun. The e-mails were just the low-hanging fruit that even a blogger with no scientific credentials whatsoever could pore over and recognize damning statements by supposedly reputable non-biased scientists – and it shall ever remain a feather in my skeptic hat that I discovered and broke two of the most damning quotes discovered in the e-mails. But, I digress. As I said, the e-mails were the low-hanging fruit, and the analysis of the documents is only just getting started, and there’s already been some significant progress that’s resulted in potentially at least one more nail in the coffin of the man-made global warming movement. It will be fun to watch the continuing fall-out over the next several months.
