President Barack Obama gave a speech minutes ago proclaiming his administration’s policy on energy and the environment.

Obama said he will immediately sign executive order directing the EPA to review the denial California waiver request that was to allow California to set their own requirements for automobile fuel efficiency standards.

My administration will not deny facts, we will be be guided by them.

He must be talking about “Al Gore science”.

America will not be held hostage to dwindling resources, hostile regimes and a warming planet.

Obama needs to go outside more, and check the thermometer. Then he needs to check his premises.

The Politco’s Whiteboard reports:

Obama has signed new EPA regs, with Ray LaHood and Lisa Jackson looking on. In remarks, POTUS presents new regulations as an alternative to “a confusing and patchwork set of standards that hurts the environment and the auto industry.”

Ordering a review of the Calif. waiver request, Obama swats his predecessor, who delayed CAFE standard increases and stopped states from setting their own emissions standards: “The days of Washington dragging its heels are over. My administration will not deny facts, we will be guided by them.”

ALSO: Hillary Clinton has named former White House staff secretary Todd Stern to be State Dept. climate czar.

The “Big Three” are under bankruptcy watch and begging for more bailout money. President Barack Obama thinks this is a good time to appease his environmental base by weighing Detroit down with a new round of environmental regulations. This is a horrible timing and it will severely damage the ability of the “Big Three” to return to profitability. The first increase in CAFE will take place by the 2011 model year. Detroit is now preparing to launch the 2010 model year in July. Read more here. The “Big Three” are sinking and Barack Obama fires a salvo of torpedoes

Thanks for reading my blog, and I hope you come back often.

I checked out the post, and you make some great points. From my perspective, the two biggest issues hamstringing the Big Three is the UAW and the CAFE standards – in that order. If the union and the government would get off their back, the Big Three would thrive.
