Joe Romm asks his readers, “What are you doing to prepare for climate impacts?”  The beneficial-molecule-fearing Rommulans obediently reply in droves.  One particular comment from a warmist blogger goes a bit beyond the question Romm posed, and predicts a very dark solution for an imagined future climate hell:

I’ll also predict that laws permitting euthanasia will become commonplace in about two decades. The world will have to choose between keeping the old and ill fed and alive, and keeping the young and fit fed and alive. (Hopefully I’m exaggerating slightly in the second sentence, but maybe not.)

So, he might be exaggerating a bit about the choice of exactly who to euthanize, but he’s not exaggerating about the actual euthanasia itself.

Some of these people have lost their minds.

Alarmist extraordinaire Joe Romm initially observed and diagnosed the malady Anti-Science Syndrome (ASS), but turned out to be woefully wrong:

One tell-tale symptom of ASS is that a website or a writer focuses their climate attacks on non-scientists. If that non-scientist is Al Gore, this symptom alone may be definitive.

The other key symptoms involve the repetition of long-debunked denier talking points, commonly without links to supporting material. Such repetition, which can border on the pathological, is a clear warning sign.

But, Romm did get one part right about ASS:

…it can be dangerous to the health and well-being of humanity if enough people actually believe the victims.

Yes, the health and well-being, i.e. individual liberties, of humanity definitely would have been endangered had the CRU crew (coined a new term?) been successful in defrauding the public with their junk science, and bringing on their Progressive Utopian reorganization of society via the lie that the earth’s thermostat needed to be turned down a fraction of a degree.

Yes, the CRU crew certainly suffers from ASS.

Note: I’ll henceforth call the Jones, Mann, Schmidt, Trenberth, et. al. the “CRU crew” when referring to them as a group, as they no longer deserve to be called scientists – as evidenced by their ASS.

In this new video, Joe Romm uses the preferred strategy of alarmists of using “an over-representation of factual presentations“, and also “scaring the pants” off of the public.

Climate alarmist extraordinaire, Joe Romm, reports:

Another major study predicts rapid warming over next few years – nearly 0.3°F by 2014

From 2009 to 2014, projected rises in anthropogenic influences and solar irradiance will increase global surface temperature 0.15 ±0.03 °C, at a rate 50% greater than predicted by IPCC.

So conclude Judith Lean, of the US Naval Research Laboratory, and David Rind, of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies in a new Geophysical Research Letters study, “How Will Earth’s Surface Temperature Change in Future Decades?” (subs. req’d).

Let’s provide a little perspective for Mr. Romm:AIT Index 7_09

And if Mr. Romm doesn’t understand the point made by the Al Gore/AIT Index, Vol. 14 above, I’ll explain further. If an approximately 4 1/2 year .3°F (.16°C) temperature rise is what Romm would call “rapid warming”, certainly a .74°F (.39°C) cooling trend in only 3 1/2 years (since An Inconvenient Truth was released on January 24, 2006 at the Sundance Film Festival) is certainly something to be alarmed about – if you’re an alarmist.  I’m not.

Even if Romm is correct about the predicted warming, it would only serve to make the larger point that the temperatures go up, and then they go down, and so on, and so on, and so on, and so on.

What’s your point, Joe?

That’s just the way an alarmist gently admits that Al Gore lies.

That Marc-Morano-smearer, Joe Romm, is at it again.   Romm, has gained quite a reputation for spouting off with what Al Gore would call an, ahem, “…over-representation of factual presentions on how dangerous it [anthropogenic global warming] is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are….”

In the New York Times today, Paul Krugman said of the congressmen who voted against Waxman-Markey that their action (or inaction) was akin to “treason against the planet”.

The Morano-smearer, Joe Romm, agrees with this sentiment saying that his own hyperbolic language may be “too mild”:

Some have asked whether I’m using too-tough language against those devoted to delaying or blocking action needed to stop catastrophic global warming.  Actually, most of the time I think it is too mild….

And so it seems that the Morano-smearer thinks it might be necessary to kick up the hyperbole a notch:

…the times this blog gets bluntest are when I think about how future generations will speak about us if we fail to spend the tiny amount of our vast wealth needed to prevent their decades and centuries of incalculable misery — see “Intro to climate economics: Why even strong climate action has such a low total cost — one tenth of a penny on the dollar.”  They won’t be calling us “The Greatest Generation.”  They will be cursing our name as “The Greediest Generation,” as the Bernie Madoffs of the global Ponzi scheme we created to enrich ourselves unsustainably at their expense.

The Morano-smearer, Joe Romm, says that the solutions to this non-existent problem will only cost a “tiny amount of our vast wealth” to solve his imagined problem.  BS! President Obama has already said during his presidential campaign that his cap and trade program would cause our electricity bills to “necessarily skyrocket“.

But, you go Joe! Knock yourself out! And when the fraud of man-made global warming is exposed for all to see I hope you are held as an accessory to the crime of perpetrating a fraud on the American people.

;) I never visit the blog of that Marc Morano-smearer Joe Romm (who makes stuff up), and whose blog, Climate Progress, is filled with disinformation, but I did just this once, and found that the Marc Morano-smearer Joe Romm had mentioned GORE LIED in his smearing of Marc Morano:

Anyway, one would suppose the Swift Boat Smearer is being mockingly humorous or satirical, like his namesake, Jonathan Swift, by making this article his banner headline.  But then really most of the articles Morano links to merit mocking or satire –  “GORE LIED:  Global temperatures plunge further; have dropped .63?F (.35?C) since Al Gore released An Inconvenient Truth” [he kills me!] — so you really can’t tell whether his whole damn website is just some sort of elaborate performance art, like something Andy Kaufman would have done.

A feather in my cap.
